Here are the most common ones, grouped by topic. Our model also reads documents not in this list: if the issuer is an Italian public body and the document is official, we can probably handle it.
If we can't read it, the refund is automatic
Agenzia Entrate, AdER (collection agency), F24 forms, tax returns
Courts, traffic fines, injunctions, proceedings

What people say
"I got a registered letter from "Agenzia delle Entrate" two months into my job in Milan. I uploaded it on my phone during lunch, paid €2.90, and 30 seconds later I knew it was a routine F24 form to fill out. Saved me half a day of WhatsApping my Italian colleagues."
Sarah M.
Milan, software engineer from Dublin
"As a digital nomad you eventually need to deal with the codice fiscale, AdER, and weird municipal taxes. This thing decoded a 6-page letter that Google Translate just made more confusing. It told me exactly which clause applied to me."
Lukas R.
Bologna, designer originally from Berlin
"Did my Erasmus in Padua, came back the following year to work, and got a TARI bill I had no idea how to handle. Three taps, plain English explanation, and the F24 instructions to pay. My Italian friends were impressed."
Aisha K.
Padua, doing a PhD
Frequently asked questions
Behind decifra-burocrazia.it there's a small team with hands-on experience in Italian law, including a lawyer registered with the Milan bar. Answers are generated by an AI using a prompt we wrote, then we spot-check them and look closely whenever someone reports something off, especially on sensitive topics. For complicated cases or large sums, it's still important to talk to a professional.
Yes. The file travels over HTTPS, is encrypted at rest on our servers, accessible only by you via a temporary link, and automatically deleted after 24 hours. We only keep the textual explanation (you can delete that earlier from your history).
Nothing beyond the analysis itself. We don't sell your data, we don't profile you, and we don't share anything with third parties beyond the technical providers strictly needed (Stripe for payments, Supabase for storage, OpenAI for the analysis). Full details on the Privacy page.
No, and we don't want to. We provide information and orientation. If your situation calls for a professional, we say so in the explanation. For court documents, large disputes or criminal matters, always go to a lawyer.
It rarely happens, but if it does we apologise and refund the €2.90. If the analysis fails due to technical issues the refund is automatic. Every answer comes with a confidence level: if we're unsure, we say so.
Yes, within 24 hours of the analysis, for any reason. Email hello@decifra-burocrazia.it with the analysis ID. For technical failures the refund is automatic.
We try not to. If the document contains health-related data (exemptions, certificates), we add a specific disclaimer in the explanation. We don't profile, aggregate or resell anything.
No. We're a private information service. We're not a CAF, not a patronato, not the Italian Revenue Agency. We help you understand; the paperwork is still yours (or your professional's) to handle.
